ALBERT FUENTES

SENIOR PASTOR

Born and raised in Waco, TX, Pastor Albert came to faith in Christ from a life which was plagued with alcohol and drug abuse.  At the time of his salvation experience, Albert was distinctly called to preach the Gospel.  Since May of 1992 Albert has walked faithfully with his Lord and served in ministry.  Albert visited Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa where he was introduced to the verse-by-verse expositional style of teaching.  This singular event motivated him to begin a Bible study at the church he was attending using this system of teaching the Word of God.  This was the beginning of teaching verse-by-verse for Pastor Albert.  The congregation that now calls itself Calvary Chapel was birthed in 2001.  The church received its Calvary Chapel affiliation in 2006.  Married in 1994 he and Patricia have three children, Trey, Jacob and Hannah.  The Fuentes family currently resides in Robinson, TX.

“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.”

In 2016 he helped create the Calvary Chapel Prison Ministry  which currently serves inmates in Central Texas units. David enjoys playing golf (losing golf balls)  and riding his Harley. David truly believes Gods word is alive.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."

                                                                  2 Corinthians 5:17

This is not only written for him , but for all who were lost and have given their hearts to Christ.

OTIS SCOTT

ASSISTANT PASTOR

Pastor Otis was born in 1971 in East Texas. He grew up attending Perry Chapel C.M.E. church in Diboll, TX. During his college years, church was not a part of his life. After graduating from college, Otis moved to Waco to start life as an adult. This new chapter in his life brought about various trials which, eventually, motivated him to rededicate his life to Christ on Easter Sunday, 2000. Otis soon experienced the heartache and brokenness of divorce. Through the help of friends and the love of Christ in his life, he was able to recover. He learned that “though we are broken through different trials and tribulations, by the love of Jesus Christ, we can be made whole.” As a result of the Lord’s healing, Otis was blessed with a wonderful wife, Sherry. Otis and Sherry started attending Calvary Chapel Waco driven by a desire to learn God’s Word verse-by-verse. Otis has a son named David “Tanner” Scott and a step-son named Josh Kirk. The Scott family currently resides in Robinson, TX. Pastor Otis joined the staff of Calvary Waco in 2010.
